Beastie the BSD Daemon Cake
The Party
Things were looking good. The arms were attched with several skewers, and we waited on the tail until it was almost time to present. His skin was still scary, but hidden in the back. The arms had been holding on for a couple of days, and looked like they would be able to keep holding. The pitchfork looked stable, and was to be the last part added.
Unfortunately, one tip of the pitchfork broke off on the way to the meeting. And we didn't bring our torch, since we'd get in trouble with the firecode. So we had to photograph with a broken pitchfork.
Still, it was a tasty cake, and no small feat, with or without mistakes. If anyone wants to give this cake a shot, and see if they can do a better job than me, please let me know. For my part, I plan to study cake decorating just a little bit more, and hopefully attempt the cake again in the future.
